To my students,
As many of you probably know, my program has been cancelled and I have returned home. It is heartbreaking that I left all of you under these circumstances, and without being able to properly say goodbye.
I remember my first week in Vysoké Mýto, feeling lost in a different world. With sports and coffee and bright smiling faces, you invited me into your community. You introduced me to your families and friends, and to new places all around the region. We learned together, laughed together, even danced together. I have lived in many places around the world, but because of you I have never felt so much at home.
I have only eternal gratitude for the seven months we spent together.
Until I return, stay safe and study hard. Remember that you have a friend on the other side of the world, always ready to talk.
Rafael
